About this class
This class is suitable for those who are new to yoga or to the Iyengar system. Basic principles are introduced and a foundation for practice is established. 
About Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar Yoga is based on the teachings of Yogacharya Sri B.K.S. Iyengar, the author of “Light on Yoga”, which is one of the most influential books on hatha yoga in this modern time. Iyengar yoga is characterized by precise alignment, timing, and sequencing, use of props to develop strength, stamina, flexibility and balance. It is also known for therapeutic approaches utilizing the deep understanding of āsanas (yoga postures).
Certified Iyengar Yoga teachers develop the knowledge to guid students with various conditions safely and effectively through years of mentorship and self practice. Yoga is for everyone. No one is too old, too stiff, too fat or too ill to start yoga. 
Regular practice of Iyengar yoga with intention of integrating the 8 limbs of yoga will not merely improve the physical wellness, but also lead you to peace and harmony in the body and mind.
